I was so happy to see the amazingly creative tabletop designs from the annual DIFFA (Design Industries Foundation Fighting Aids) fundraiser gala in NYC hosted at the Architectural Digest Home Show. The 50 tabletop designs, created by a variety of design gurus from the magazine, retail, and manufacturing worlds, range from the truly wild and crazy to the sublime and historic. Here are some of my favorites in no particular order!

Love the Palm Springs/ 70’s glam mash up here from iCrave for Design Within Reach. This combination of pieces from mid century designer, Eva Zeisel and the modernist, Jasper Morrison, with some retro yellow Jello create the setting for a raucous good time.

Bold and graphic! Napkins from Dransfield & Ross, Zen flatware from Ralph Lauren Home, bowls from Michael Aram.
Rockwell Group and Knoll teamed up to create this urbane dining experience where Jon Burgerman, the renowned doodle artist, drew on the walls, table and floor.

Inspired by Georgia Okeefe’s New Mexico home, this design is totally calm and serene. I love the woven benches and pendants by Turkish-born artist, Betil Dagdelen.

This Op art inspired design by Ali Tayar and Silver Linings Interiors for Interior Design magazine is eye catching. The design was a mod interpretation based on the question, “What’s black, white and red all over?”.

Luxe Interiors and Liagre sponsored this rainforest-themed dining area. The fabulous, over-the-top Le Gournay wallpaper, “Le Eden” sets the wild tone. The tree trunk stools are fun as are the decorative plates that show a leopard draped on a tree branch.
Here is Baccarat’s fresh take on how to decorate a table: Put the lime green leaves and greenery into glasses! And use a black lacquered strip (that coordinates with the chairs) down the middle to raise the level of the display.
Last one. Here I am with my friend, the DC-based designer Mary Douglas Drysdale. It was such a pleasure to see her again!
